The successful information and communication technologies (ICT) project “ePlatform for Heritage Inheritance and Preservation (eHIP)” has incorporated the smartphone and location-based services to initiate an interactive geo-social networking platform (eHIP) for heritage preservation to attain cultural sustainability. People use their smartphones tapping the QR Code/RFID tags placed on designated sites and getting access to eHIP to share and acquire information instantly. The platform can also gather public opinions to enhance participation, and thus favors memories accumulation which visualizes collective memory and contributes to preserving the memory of the old heritage, upholding the slogan “Tag for our memory, tag for our history, and tag for our next generation!”
